Program

Leaving from Johannesburg at 8h30 (or 12h00 for the afternoon tour) you will be on your way toward the scenic city of Pretoria.

A stop at the Voortrekker Monument will give you the opportunity to learn about the history of South Africa's brave pioneers, who left the British-controlled Cape Colony in the 1830's, traveling inland in what came to be called the Great Trek and ending up in what is now Pretoria. You will have a great view of the city from there too.

Then you will drive into the city, with a stop at Kruger House, the very house where the Paul Kruger lived. Your tour will pass by Church Square, where its interesting buildings and beautiful architecture will be explained.

You will also visit the famous Melrose House, where the Peace Treaty of Vereeniging which ended the Anglo-Boer War (1899 - 1902) was signed on 31 May 1902.

Finally you will visit the beautiful Union Buildings, seat of the executive branch of South African government. Designed by Sir Herbert Baker, they are considered to be one of the country's finest architectural masterpieces. They were the setting for President Mandelas historic inauguration on 10 May 1994. The beautifully landscaped grounds include features such as the amphitheatre, the Garden of Remembrance and the Delville Wood memorial. You will also get beautiful views of Pretoria.

You will arrive back in Johannesburg around 12h30 (or 17h00 for the afternoon tour).
